Pricing deedly dums...
So I was recently reading an article on another site about pricing freelance work. I've always had an issue with this, as I've often found that mediocre websites often have a hefty price tag. Also, Grey Click started as a passion, a simple site with one or two pages that I was going to use to get a few people sent down a better path in design.
Now it's been some time, and since my heavier duty college courses are starting, I'm getting rather pinched for time. Since I never want my customers to feel like I'm unavailable to them, any time I take on a new project, it's at the expense of my sleep and the fourty three seconds of free time I previously had in each page. But I still love doing it.
So back to the article, as this relates directly to the jibber jabber I was talking about above. My problem is not that I don't charge enough, it's that I don't actually charge as much as I say I will. Anytime I talk to a new customer, I always feel that their needs to get this website done and affordably are greater than my needs to get more money out of it.
At any rate, I suppose I'll have to let it sit and stir for a while in this brain of myn. Maybe the next time a customer calls I will offer a different payment plan, instead of a different payment.
Read the article I read Here at CSS Tricks.
